This is the 2nd time that this has happened, so I'm hoping someone could tell me what went wrong.

I installed oscommerce a little over 2 weeks ago after switching hosting service and did a lot of work into changing it's template and whatnot by using the contributions.

I also uploaded, wrote descriptions for, and whatnot for around 200+ products.

But a few days ago, I was notify that my store was "gone". I went to check, and sure enough my products were missing and was instead replaced by the products, images of when I first installed the store.

I thought I had accidently hit restore and went back to uploading my products again. Well this time, in the middle of it all, I close down my browser, restarted it and went to my admin section to see that it once again restore itself.

My templates and everything is still there, just the products are gone. And if you notice at the bottom, it says October 14 instead of October 1 as when I first installed it.

Could someone tell me why it keeps doing this? I just don't have time to keep re-uploading my products and having to put my store down for maintenance for a few days.

My store is http://beautifulyou-minerals.com/catalog.

sorry if I dont make any sense whatsoever. I'm running on 1 1/2 days of no sleep cause of this.

So if I got that right, you have a database backup with your products and tried to restore it. Did you make sure, that the backup really contains your custom data and not the default store data? I know it sounds like a dumb question, but have seen enough of those things to cause hassle to exclude them by default.

Other than that, did you delete the install folder from your webspace? If not, anyone would be able to restart the installation process again and maybe load up the default (which i doubt, cause your configure files are write protected anyways). Another explanation could be that your host has restored the database without notifiying you...
