Guest
I created a Google Sitemap using the SEO-G contrib. I uploaded the file to my website; now Google is trying to verify it and I'm being told to insert a meta tag in the index page of the site. It's a tag that Google generated and needs to see in the website to verify the sitemap. Looks kind of like this: <meta name="verify-v1" content="abunchofjumbledupnumbersandsymbolsgohere=" /> Where do I put this? I don't know if this is relevant or not, but I do have Header Tags Controller installed. Do I need to do something there or just open up the catalog > index.php file and slap that code in somewhere? And where?
Nullachtfuffzehn
Just put it in your index.php somewhere into the HTML <head> section. Best place is right below where the HTC is included.
Guest
That was a mess! I tried putting that tag below the HTC code...above it...everywhere and Google kept coming back with something like 'cannot find the tag'. I ended up putting it directly underneath the first <head> tag in the file and...success! Thanks very much for your help, I appreciate it!
