Guys,

I have now spend 3 weeks with OSC 2.2 and it look really good, but with some important things missing.

1. A better Import utility (you have BIG problems importing 3700 partnumbers with 1 main category and 2 sub categoryes for each partnumber. It should be possible to import them via an intellingent import utility). I need to upload these once a week :(

Before you leave and try using Interchange or some similar have a quick look at this mod.

It should do what you want.

Agree, it would also be nice if you had a parameter telling numbers of sub categories. Can anyone do a little programming on this ? (I cant program PHP ) ?

Kim, don't leave just yet. I like the idea of being able to do N number of category levels. I have an idea of how I want to implement it, but I'm in between a rock and a hard place. I've got to stop working on EasyPopulate long enough to get a couple sites up.

So if you can hang out for about another week or so, then I can probably have EasyPopulate do what you need. This simple export/import of product data is good, reasonable, useful functionality, and it's sprung into existance in just the last week or so. OSC is a good package, and the contribs are a major strength, because the package can go in whatever direction you need.

Just to leave a trail for someone finding this thread, EasyPopulate 2.1 is doing everything that Kim needs, I think....

Tim,

Maybe i am doing something wrong ?

Ican split the file op manually and then i can import.

If I try to use your split in version 2.1 it will look like this :

File uploaded.

Temporary filename: C:PHPuploadtempphp24F.tmp

User filename: Book1.txt

Size: 64597

Creating file EP_Split1.txt ... Added 0 records and closing file...

You can download your split files in the Tools/Files under /catalog/temp/

There will only be one file which is semilar to the one i uploaded for splitting.

I do not have any clue at all what is wrong !

any ideas ?

Two questions:

1. Does your php use magic-quotes?

2. it's never finding the end-of-row marker. Can you send me the file you're trying to use?

[email protected]

I'll see if I can find anything funny in it...

Hello, I want to bring over my products.txt file and make it into a easy populate file, what fields are required as I suppose I could use excel to shift things around a bit.... I am thinking correctly or should I stick with interchange.
