Demo Mode? How Do I get out of it!?

I have searched for it seems HOURS and looked everywhere, and I cannot seem to find the following things, inside the Admin Control Panel:

(by the way my webshop is located at www.vibehost.com/shop/) it is running Version: Preview Release 2.2-CVS)

- Cannot figure out how to edit Index.php and get it out of demo mode. Right now it says "This is a demonstration online-shop, any products purchased will not be delivered nor billed. Any information seen on these products are to be treated fictional."

- I want to have a welcome message on the front page. Right now it just says that its in demo mode and nothing will work.

- The Shipping & Returns Section, Privary Notice, and Conditions of use sections. I have no idea how to edit those (other than wordpad).

Can anyone please tell me where in the control panel I can edit these things.

It isn't in demo mode. You change the text on the index page by opening up the file "default.php" in a text editor and changing the words. Same with the Shipping & Returns section, Privacy Notice, and Conditions of Use. All of these are changed with text editors, not the Admin panel.

A quick way to find which files to edit is to use a text search utility. If I wanted to change the text on the index page, I would bring up the page in my web browser and look for a phrase such as "This is a demonstration online-shop". Search through your files looking for that phrase, and you'll see it appears in /catalog/includes/languages/english/default.php. Open it with a text editor and change it.

And, like the last poster, I would highly recommend you read the documentation at www.oscdox.com, and also a lot of posts from this forum.

Hiya vibehost

The first thing which you should do is to go to www.oscdox.com and download the manual to understand most of the workings of oscommerce.

For the Demo Message, just go to

Catalog > includes > languages > english > default.php and edit the file "default.php".
