Guest
Hi All, Is anyone familiar with the Authorize.net gateway from both the OSC and Merchant perspective? The reason I ask is that a client would like the following to happen: 1. Customer places an order and submits CC info 2. The customer CC card is NOT charged, but an order notice goes out to the store owner 3. Store owner logs into Authorize.net control panel and MANUALLY pushes the charge through, adjusting the total if necessary My guess is that one of the 'Order Status' options would achieve this, but I am not 100% sure because it does not appear that I can test this without changing the account status to 'Test Mode Off'. It would seem logical that the 'On Hold' order status would mean the charge is not processed at the time of purchase, but again I'm not 100% sure. Hopefully that was clear and some kind soul can assist - thanks!
rabbitseffort
can't you use authorize and not capture? then the card is oked by authorize.net but not charged till you go in and capture the funds? I've never seen anybody really find the answer -- they think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. That sounds perfect, but how/what do I set to 'authorize'? Is that done in the Authorize.net control panel? This is my first time working with Authorize.net, and the client knows even less about it than I lol - your help is appreciated!
rabbitseffort
yes, in authorize.net, there is an option to only authorize charges or to authorize and capture if you call them they should help you set it up, setting it up that way should work well alternatively, and I do not really suggest this, you could use the stock cc module and then use the VT section of authorize.net to process cards when you want if the store owner plans to adjust charges then adding in one of the order editiers should be done to keep accurate records in the admin--though not necessary, just makes life easy and records reliable at tax season HTH "I must admit that I personally measure success in terms of the contributions an individual makes to her or his fellow human beings." ---Margaret Mead--- "The answer is never the answer.
