roprexplus
Some of the product on my website require a person to put an initial, a name or even a date. I created an attribut for instance that says name but what do i put as the value to allow someone to be able to type a name. it just has a small box when i view it in my store and i an unable to put any text in the box. I am new to this stuff and need help. Where do i go and what do i do to fix this. thanks

Jack_mcs
Go to the above menu and select Community->Contributions. Then type in option type to search for it. Download a version and read the instructions on how to install it. I say "a version" because some people have uploaded partial packages and you could spend a great deal of time on something that won't work. Sometimes it will say if it is a full package or not in the text on the page. I found the contribution and is says its a full package but it gives manual direction. Where do i go in oscommerce to put these updates. I hope i can do it without messing everything else up. It seems like you have to have some computer language background to work with the contributions
darsh999
Well of course a computer language background helps.. but its not required as much. the manual direction stuff helps a lot though.

Jack_mcs
Is there any other way to do this other than manually, i think i will mess things up if i do it manuallyNo, there isn't. Although if you go slow and follow the directions exactly, you will be able to do it. Although, to be honest, that particular contribution is probably not one you should learn on. Just be sure to backup everything as mentioned.
