gray_bale Posted October 6, 2007 Share Posted October 6, 2007 I have had a major system crash, with my H Disc corrupted. However I kept backups. Installed a empty clean version of OsCommerce, passwords etc as before, and it seemed to work OK. Archived the 'catalog' directory, and then renamed by backup'd directory of OsCommerce as 'catalog' directory. I then imported the backup sql file. Everything seems to be in order, all the data is there. But all I get in trying to run the shop is 'Unable to connect to database server!' Any ideas, of how to get me running again ??? I have now narrowed the problem down to both configure.php files I changed define('DB_SERVER', '192.168.0.103'); to define('DB_SERVER', 'localhost'); All now seems to work OK. The strange thing is that ('DB_SERVER', '192.168.0.103'); was in the original working version of Oscommerce. So there must be something not right somewhere else, but where ???
