Guest
So I've been wondering for a while now about the AVS responses I get back. Here's the key I've used for a reference: Legend for AVS Response: A = Address matchs, Zip does not D = Street address and Postal Code match (international issuer) E = AVS System Error G = (International Cards) Service not supported by issuer. N = no match on Address or Zip Code. R = Retry, system unavailable or timed out. S = Service not supported by issuer. U = Address information unavailable. W = 9 digit Zip matches, Address does not. X = Exact AVS match. Y = Address and 5 digit zip code match. Z = 5 digit Zip Code matches, Address does not. Now, when I get a respones of "Y" does this mean that the address the credit card company has on file is the same as what I entered for the card? Or is it simply meaning that the address I entered and that zip code match each other and not necessarily what the credit card company has on file? Thanks!
