SSL admin login

Hi, ive installed my SSL, which works fine on the catalog side, and when in my admin section also. But when logging in, the password is still being sent via an insecure manner. Is there a way to have the admin login bit encrypted with my SSL. Also in the osc admin bit it still says im not protected with a SSL??? Where should i look to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

I have two login screens, the first one is before the opening osc admin section loads up (the blue one), this page is also not https... Then when i click on a link say catalog, i have to enter my pword again, but this is via a secure connection... and all pages from there on are https. I hope that all makes sense.

How about calling the admin login site (most likely the index.php) via https protocol? If you call it via http the page can't determine that you'd prefer a secure connection. You can also write a rewrite rule in your .htaccess so any http request is redirected to https.

i thought the index.php was the opening page of the store... i dont want to redirect all http, to https as that would be to much crap on my SSL and would google even pick the site up then? how can i make it that when i type https://mywebsite/store/admin .. that i do not get the following error message:

There is a problem with this website's security certificate.

which osc file can i set where i want my specific page http to be redirected to a https one, like what happens when you go to make a new account, or checkout. Thanks in advance.

Using .htaccess to redirect you should be the way to go. Just google about it to get a guideline on what to do where. oh, and it's the htacess in your admin directory.

Hi, this is what i tried adding in my admin htaccess:

Redirect http://mywebsite.co.uk/admin/passwd/ https://mywebsite.co.uk/admin/passwd/

This didnt work :(, what is the url of that little pop up login screen. :(

Thanks in advance.
