puddled Posted November 21, 2002 Posted November 21, 2002 We have just launched a new venture, a free osCommerce only banner exchange program. This is designed to help improve to traffic flow to cummunity websites using the osCommerce software engine. If you would like to join please goto http://banners.puddled.co.uk and register. This is a totally free service, that aims to benefit all who take part. But in order to be effective, we need people to register, and use it The only limitations at present, are that the banner has to 468x60 and has to be loacted on your server, we are currently working on these issues. The links provided are compatible with the osCommerce banner system, and are easily incorporated, and the banner engine, is designed not to show your own banner on your website. Once registerd, please allow 24hrs for your account to be activated. In order to activate, your account, we need to check that your site, is osCommerce based to protect against fraudulent use from outside the community. There is also the facility to include more than one banner per account, or, you could have more than one account, good if you are the webmaster of many stores. If you have any problems, registering or including your banner images, please email me at [email protected], with the details, and we will work them out. Please help us make this work, we can only do it with your help. The more people join, the more visitors, members of the community will recieve, good news for everybody. Wishing success to everyone. 8) Instant idiot......Just add mud !!
mattice Posted November 21, 2002 Posted November 21, 2002 Just out of curiosity... will your program show banners at random at all the sites? Or do they get grouped by subject of interest etc? "Politics is the art of preventing people from taking part in affairs which properly concern them"
wizardsandwars Posted November 22, 2002 Posted November 22, 2002 I was thinking the exact same thing. I'd be interested in doing some banner swapping with gaming sites, RPG, or even software sites. But I would n't really be interested in Computer hardware sites. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.
puddled Posted November 22, 2002 Author Posted November 22, 2002 At the moment, it is just random, but we are working on the grouping by subject matter Instant idiot......Just add mud !!
mattice Posted November 22, 2002 Posted November 22, 2002 Ooooops... so you can basically upload your hardcore porn site banners and they will get shown across all the other nice osC shops... Me thinks not good! Or do you check all entries manually? You'd better :D "Politics is the art of preventing people from taking part in affairs which properly concern them"
Paul_C Posted November 22, 2002 Posted November 22, 2002 What do you have against hardcore porn :?:  "It's a damn poor mind that can only think of one way to spell a word." -- Andrew Jackson
mattice Posted November 22, 2002 Posted November 22, 2002 What do you have against hardcore porn? I can't stand seeing myself on video. Makes me look sooo fat. :D "Politics is the art of preventing people from taking part in affairs which properly concern them"
puddled Posted November 22, 2002 Author Posted November 22, 2002 All entries are put in a holding system awaiting manual validation by the myselff. This ensures, that the site itself does indeed use osCommerce shop front, and cantains, how can i put this, acceptable material. Once accepted, all sites are then checked on a regular basis, to ensure that he banners are still being displayed, and that he site is still as registerd :) Instant idiot......Just add mud !!
