I am not quite understanding how to install osCommerce into my website. If I'm not mistaken I must have a web host with PHP accessibility. I have recently switched over to a web host that meets this qualification but I have not converted my domain as of yet. I have uploaded osCommerce into my files with my new web hosting partner, but seeing that I have not yet converted over will that not allow me to continue with the install process? If I am able to continue with the process some basic guidance would totally be appreciated. Thanks

Your new host should have given you an ip address so you can access your site now.

If you have uploaded osCommerce into the root folder and you have created a new, blank database, open a browser and type in the ip and your site will begin to install. Something like .http://90.160.144.185/install/ or if you have uploaded the catalog directory, then it will be like .http://90.160.144.185/catalog/install/

Once you have got that far, if you get stuck on anything, you can ask more specific questions here.

I have a database, but it is not blank. Should I erase what is in the database and begin fresh or create a new database? osCommerce is uploaded in a root folder but when you say ,"open up a browser" where exactly do I open up a browser at?

Open a browser window, like you did to get to this site - Firefox, Opera, Netscape, IE, Safari, whatever you use.

Is slandingoz.biz the domain you are installing to? If you upload osCommerce to the document root, you need to point the browser to .http://www.slandingoz.biz/install/ or if you uploaded the catalog directory, use .http://www.slandingoz.biz/catalog/install/

You don't need a full stop before http:// as I have done, that is just to stop it turning into a link.
