How to change the word "Top" to "Homepage"

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know where to go in order to change the link that appears as "Top" in the upper left corner? Right now, that takes you to the site's homepage. We would like it to actually SAY "Homepage" rather than "Top".

We are not using the storefront as the site's homepage so need a way for folks to make their way back to the homepage. I thought I read the instructions on how to edit this somewhere, but cannot find it now!

Thanks a bunch...

yes,

you go to catalog/includes/languages/english.php

and change the line:

define('HEADER_TITLE_TOP', 'Top');

to whatever you like, such as:

define('HEADER_TITLE_TOP', 'Homepage');

Hope this helps. It's my first time trying to help someone, and my 3rd attempt at that!

lightwarrior is correct. You could also comment the breadcrumbs out if you like.

Do or Do Not, there is no try.

HELP! I did exactly as you instructed and now we get a weird error message. Even after I restore the word "top", there is still this error message. I swear there is something wacky with the text editing thing on our host. I am being very, very, very careful, tip toeing thru this code and I almost ALWAYS end up with an error! Here is what I've got presently - change the word TOP to HOMEPAGE. Can anyone spot the problem below?

Never mind!

Got it going. The problem was down further where you edit "What's New". I wasn't even anywhere NEAR there when I typed in "Homepage", but somehow, that line was the problem. You need a backslash in front of the apostrophe? - and then it worked - is that a php thing?

Thanks!
