Remove breadcrumbs entirely

Recommended Posts

I've looked through a bunch of posts on modifying breadcrumbs, but I haven't found any on how to remove them entirely. I tried to remove it via application_top.php but the one time I tried it errored.

Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Have you tried to just comment out as shown below ?

// $breadcrumb->add(NAVBAR_TITLE, tep_href_link(FILENAME_CONTACT_US));

What was the error that you encountered earlier?

Cheers,

Best Regards,
Gaurav

What I have right now is...

// include the breadcrumb class and start the breadcrumb trail
 require(DIR_WS_CLASSES . 'breadcrumb.php');
 $breadcrumb = new breadcrumb;

//  $breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_TOP, HTTP_SERVER);
//  $breadcrumb->add(HEADER_TITLE_CATALOG, tep_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT));

When I tried to comment out the rest of it, that's what caused an error, bringing up a white page with some calls to errors on the lines, I don't remember specifics. I can't seem to find the strand of code you mentioned in application_top -- is that where it should be? Do you have a rough line estimate?

breadcrumb is defined only at one place in application_top.php in generic osc. Line 463.

Subsequently it is invoked in files mentioned below and you would have to comment it (mostly found on line 17... on all files)

account_history.php

I have found that people do want to know where they are on the site, but having breadcrumbs where it is now is not very useful (again according to customers).

Take a look at my site www.hatsfromoz.com.au where I changed the way it is displayed. Just click on any products to see.

If interested, I should try to pull the code out.
