Losing $customer_id on checkout_success.php

Hi,

 

Some users are not getting the correct message on checkout_success.php - the customer_id seems to be unavailable, so the page cannot get the info on the order....

 

The customer_id is being registered as a session variable on checkout_process.php, and everything else is working fine...

 

This only happens when the customer pays through PayPal or our bank... Both are SSL, whereas our checkout process is not. Could this be the cause?

Has anyone any ideas on this I thought about sending the orders_id, but that means changing all the code on both pages... And if the current system works fior everyone else, there is nmo reason it shouldn't work for me too !
