Recommended Posts

After fighting for weeks to be able to integrate the Canadian taxes (GST, HST, PST) seamlessly im getting you my contribution that makes it all work!

You can get it here : http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,5399

***** Excerpt of the readme.txt file *****

*********INSTALLATION PROCEDURE*************

Installation is simple, simply copy over your original ot_tax module. Do not forget to make a backup of your old file in case something goes wrong.

*********SET-UP TAXES***********************

Here are the easy steps to setup your taxes so it actually works.

1- Follow the peter moisers (sorry if I mispelled his name) guide to setup your canadian taxes (you can find it in the OSC Contributions just search for canadian taxes and you will get it)

2- Make sure all of your tax zones (ie.: Zone: Ontario) are having a sub-zone with the name of the province, or this won't work !

3- Test it out and send any comments you have to [email protected] if you experience any problems!

URL To Canadian taxes: http://www.taxtips.ca/provincial_sales_tax.htm

I hope it helps! just post your comments here or if you need help setting it up.

Best regards,

Nicolas Cloutier

!!!!!!!!!!!!*****************UPDATE*********************!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All of your taxes rates must have the following names in the format : PST $province. Your GST Tax rate must be

called exactly like this: GST (6%). If you want to change that rule, you will need to edit the code of ot_total.php.

here is a detailed listing:

tax rate name Province

PST QC Quebec

PST ON Ontario

PST AB Alberta

PST NU Nunavut

etc.

Then you need to add a HST rate that will be called HST.
