Force english to be defaullt language?

I'm running Ian's loaded November snapshot and recently discovered that other laguages are not supported. If I chooses "german" as the only broswer language in Mozilla I get errors. Has anyone else tried this?

 

Is there a way to force english to be the default language for non english browsers to prevent these errros? I've tried changing the "$language" string in several core files to "english" with partial success but am still pulling up german product descriptions. Maybe I should delete other langauge options in languages.php? Has anyone found a solution for this?

if i figure it out i'll post it here. Choosing the "default" language in the admin panel does not work btw...
