Configure/php yet again

Ok,

I have had a really good search in the forum, either im missing something simple or I need to get a new hobby!

I am just trying to set up a dedicated SSL on an australian server called 'net registry'

All I want to allow is when I log in, it goes SSL. For the life of me I have no idea why it will not do it, its driving me crazy.

This is the main jist of my configure.php file:

  define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.whossassi.com'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers
 define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.whossassi.com'); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers
 define('ENABLE_SSL', true); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?
 define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.whossassi.com');
 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'www.whossassi.com');
 define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/');
 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '/');
 define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/');
 define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/');
 define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');
 define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'icons/');
 define('DIR_WS_INCLUDES', 'includes/');
 define('DIR_WS_BOXES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'boxes/');
 define('DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'functions/');
 define('DIR_WS_CLASSES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'classes/');
 define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'modules/');
 define('DIR_WS_LANGUAGES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'languages/');

 define('DIR_WS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', 'pub/');
 define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/clientdata/clients/w/h/whossassi.com/www/');
 define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'download/');
 define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'pub/');

If you goto the site now at https://www.whossassi.com it will ask about the secure and non secure.

I am storing sessions to mysql. Will that make a difference?

I altered my application_top.php file so it now recognizes the SSL and thats when all the trouble started, before that it refused to see it.

I just cant figure it out.

Once I get this done, I want to have it goto a login page if you try to enter a secure url....is the whole site (once logged in) secured by SSL or just the checkout?

Is there a contribution to ensure the whole site is secure once logged in? I would need to add a $request_type to every single link wouldn't I to ensure its SSL?

Thank you

This works fine with a shared SSL but I cant get it to work on dedicated...
