Removing header title, white space & graphic from categories listing

I am searching *DESPERATELY* for a knight/knightess in shining OS armor who can tell me how to delete the header text, graphic and white space ALTOGETHER from the products listing page. I need the product list to be flush at the top.

I've been searching the forum forever on how to do this, and I get how to *change* the text and make the graphic a transparent pixel. The problem is, I want the whole thing gone. GONE. FOREVER.

PLEASE HELP!

Please.

I'm shriveling up over here, slowly dying of oscommerce-related frustration... and my deadline looms at midnight...

please, please help me...

Julie,

Ditto, same problem, although I have only been working on it for a couple hours. I have searched in a number of places and found no answers.

Here is the link to my site: you will find white space above the "mayhem" logo, and although I have erased the text I want to bring the Mayhem image to the very top.

Well folks, it's all about editing the table attributes in the index.php file below the code - <!-- body_text //-->.

Let's look at yours Brendan since there was a link to it.

You'll start by looking for the code -

<!-- start Default Content //-->

<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">

<tr>

<td><!--

<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">

<tr>

<td class="pageHeading"></td>

<td class="pageHeading" align="right"></td>

</tr>

</table> HEADING_TITLE_ REMOVED_BCR//-->

</td>

</tr>

<tr>

<td><img src="images/pixel_trans.gif" border="0" alt="" width="100%" height="10"></td>

</tr>

<tr>

<td><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">

<tr>

<td class="main"></td>

</tr>

<tr>

<td><img src="images/pixel_trans.gif" border="0" alt="" width="100%" height="10"></td>

</tr>

<tr>

<td class="main">

<TABLE border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">

<TR>

<TD VALIGN="top"><IMG SRC="images/mayhem_logo_chrome.jpg">

</TD>

</TR>

</TABLE>

You'll notice the last line of code is your logo. Let's look above that...

<tr>

<td><img src="images/pixel_trans.gif" border="0" alt="" width="100%" height="10"></td>

</tr>

Is an empty (except for the pixel_trans.gif) table row. That is bumping your logo down.

This is also an empty table row -

<tr>

<td class="main"></td>

</tr>

Well, you should get the idea. Just be careful when you cross over into other < Table > or < /Table > tags.

Make a backup, test each edit to make sure you didn't mess up the table structure. ;)

Jim,

Thanks for setting me straight. I'll pay closer attention to the html next time, but your help is much appreciated.

Regards,

Brendan

Glad I was able to point you in the correct direction.

Hey, we all need a friendly reminder once and awhile... just ask my wife, she reminds me all the time. :lol:

:thumbsup:
