Guest Posted November 16, 2002 Posted November 16, 2002 Hi.. Got this today from a provider: I'm writing to let you know that stnickco.com is on the 3GB per month hosting plan and it has already used about 2.88GB (96%) of that amount as of Nov 15 just in web traffic alone. http://www.stnickco.com Unique visists are up 350% this month. Purchased Bandwidth is 3GB and have used nearly all that so far this month. Projected overage would cost about $25...that is nearly twice the cost of the hosting plan. I do not want to trim images, and my customer would be a put off by this. Don't want to drop the little flash for the same reason. Advice ?
wasson65 Posted November 16, 2002 Posted November 16, 2002 Well, you're sorta between a rock and a hard place. You have some fatter content. You have many more hits this month than last. You might check to see if php can be configured to run with zlib compression (may require host cooperation) But there's no magic bullet: zlib is a close as you'll get. Are the extra hits worth the $25?
