I have just started adding products to my new site but on the fronpage I have a box with the heading NEW PRODUCTS FOR AUGUST and it is all bunched up throwing the formatting of the text above it out.

And ideas appreciated .. ;)

You have an unclosed table in your introductory text.

<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="5" cellpadding="2"><tr><td class="main" valign="top"><img src="images/default/1.gif" border="0" alt="" width="20" height="20"></td><td class="main" valign="top"><b>About Us</b><br><br>Although MCS Are New Online They Have Actually Been Established For Over 15 Years. Geotex I assume your quote is the correct coding. I have copied and pasted that in now the site is dead, please advise ??

I know nothing about coding ..

actually, it was not. Just a copy of what I found on your page. I only pointed out the cause of your problem. I did NOT indicate it was corrected.

What page did you copy and paste to? The code is in your language files, probably includes/languages/english/index.php in the block define('TEXT_MAIN', '....') unless you have some loaded or templated version, which you appear not to have.
