Shipping and Table Rate cost results

Recommended Posts

I am just setting things up and running some testing and see that the Table Rate shipping costs does not correctly reflect the set values in Admin->Modules->Shipping->Table Rate

Shipping Table

5:1.35,10:2.25,20:4.50,50:10.00

Table Method

weight

The product is set to Weight = 1.

From Admin 'edit' mode;

-------

Shipping Table

The shipping cost is based on the total cost or weight of items. Example: 25:8.50,50:5.50,etc.. Up to 25 charge 8.50, from there to 50 charge 5.50, etc

-------

Therefore, with my settings, I would expect - 1-5 = 1.35 , 6-10 = 2.25 , 11-20 = 4.50 , 21-50 = 10.00.

The results seem to vary greatly from what is set.

1 = 1.35

4 = 1.35

5 = 2.25

9 = 2.25

10 = 4.50

18 = 4.50

19 = 6.75

28 = 9.00

37 = 11.25

45 = 11.25

46 = 13.50

50 = 13.50

Is this some type of weight conversion issue that is coded? KG to LBS?

And the weight set for the item is in one unit and the shipping is converting it?

Also, is there an contribution for 'American-English' that might address this? I've noticed all the Admin settings show the 'British-English' flag icon. Or is that just an icon setting and does not relay to the entire module, because I have found the contribution to change the flag icon.

Thanks

Steve

Hi there,

I'm not sure if my experience (or lack of it) will help as I've been having similar problems with these settings.

I had originally offered free shipping for all items over £100, however with the market changing I decided to change the rates.

It took me a while to work it out.

I wanted to charge £9.95 for all items up to the value of £250, and £19.95 for everything over that value.

So, in the 'Table Rate' menu, in the shipping table box, I input: 250:9.95,10000:19.95

Everything seems to be working fine. Of course, I'm not using weight as a shipping cost guide, just the total price.

I hope this helps.

Kenny

I'm having this exact same problem. I'm not sure what to do. If you find the answer, please post it. I will do likewise.

I just found the answer. Go into your Admin. Select CONFIGURATION, SHIPPING/PACKAGING. Set your "Package Tare Weight" to 0. Also, set your "Larger packages - percentage increase." to 0.
