Can PostgreSQL be used as the backend for osCommerce

I know most everyone is using MySQL, can osCommerce be installed with PostgreSQL as the backend?

Yes but you will need to get your hands very dirty, the area's you will need to look at is a re-write of the database.php file and possibly the way the queries are written.

Thanks for the reply. I'll just go ahead and load mySQL and save myself the headache :)

Shouldn't be very hard. I think.

Only changes in database.php. The PHP-postgresfunctions nearly have the some name. (and perhaps some querys, but I don't think so)

In this forum someone ported OSc to an other DB within 2hours.
