Guest Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002  I just put up the OS shopping cart. had my first sale - through PayPal. Sale cleared, money transferred to my account. But: NO ORDER REFLECTED on the OS Cart. No stock gone, no order report anywyere. Tested it with a "personal check" order - worked fine. Went over the configuration VERY carefully - Don't know what might be wrong! Any suggestions!? Thanks
Jan0815 Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Search the forum :-) This has been discussed numerous times and was the cause for the Paypal IPN contribution. It's a flaw in Paypals design. There is a final "continue" button at the end of the payment that many people simply do not press. That causes osC to not recognize the payment as no redirection takes place. pbreit Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 I wouldn't necessarily consider it a PayPal design flaw since PayPal's IPN POSTs no matter what the user does on that final page. I don't know exactly how OSCommerce handles PayPal orders but I would expect it to create an "Order pending payment" and to complete the order upon receipt of a PayPal IPN for a completed payment of the proper amount. Guest Posted November 15, 2002 Posted November 15, 2002 I would expect OSC to post a pending order, too. But apparently it doesn't. Has anyone had a solution to this? problem? I'm still confused!
jalil Posted November 23, 2002 Posted November 23, 2002 I'm also having this problem (so far only one transaction today, Nov 23), no pending order as well. Previously it was okay, not sure what has happened. I'm using OSC with PaySystems.com payment module. Since I also installed Purchase Without Account v0.55 contribution, maybe this is the cause of problem of order not shown in the database. wizardsandwars Posted November 23, 2002 Posted November 23, 2002 Hey guys, If you are still having trouble with this, then you need to RE-READ Jan's post. With a little reading comprehension, all will be revealed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit. If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.
jalil Posted November 23, 2002 Posted November 23, 2002 Hello Chris, I'm not using PayPal module at all and I'm trying to find a solution to my problem. The best solution that I can think of at the moment is to get rid all the code appended from Purchase Without Account v0.55, maybe this is the cause of my problem. Guest Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 I just did a test order with my newly installed 2.2 I used the paypal module and payment was made fine, with a great redirect back to the osc. However the test order i made is not showing (apart from in the products purchased report) Has there been a solution found to this problem yet? Cheers! AaronUV
Mark Russell Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 what page did the rediret back to OSC land on? Mark
Guest Posted November 26, 2002 Posted November 26, 2002 Im almost 95% certain it went back to the cart summary page, and i pressed finish order. But i cant be certain, it was late:) Cheers! AaronUV
Mark Russell Posted November 27, 2002 Posted November 27, 2002 I believe the redirect back to your page has to land on checkout_success for the order to register in the db. I don't know why, I just remember working through a similar issue with 2checkout. HTH Mark
