Guest Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Guy can some one tell me how to setup credit card option in my shopping cart. I don't like using paypal all the time. It scares my clients away, and I want them simply inter credit card info instead of registering each time someone wants to buy something. I'm willing to pay small fee for successful help Thanks Alex My Email [email protected]
dahammer2 Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Theres a number of ways to let your customers use credit cards. You can collect CC numbers and process the cards manually. This option is supported with oscommerce, its a part of the standard install. You *will* need a SSL certificate to protect your customers CC details! you have a duty of care after all You can use a merchant account and use a CC card processor like authorize.net to automatically process cc cards when the customer checkouts. This is a good option because the customer knows there and then its approved. It also takes away some of the responsibility of you looking after their CC number as theres no permeant record. They don't have to signup like paypal either.. When you say you don't want the customer to sign up, do you also NOT want them to signup for your store?

dahammer2 Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Well its very easy from oscommerce end goto yourdomain.com/admin/modules.php?set=payment&module=authorizenet&action=edit and edit in the correct parameters and away she goes. Its part of the standard 2.2 installation.. You do you use the latest snapshot of 2.2? Obviously the difficult part is signing up to authorize.net.. of which you can probably start off at their homepage :) do a search in these forums if you want more info on authorize.net.. I've only enabled it, never signed up to it. ANother less complicated option is www.2checkout.com You get paid twice a month I think, but customers get instant validation and you don't need a merchant account. Theres heaps of info around if you do searchs on both these services
