Sizing pictures for products

For some reason I am having trouble getting my pictures sized correctly.

 

Can someone give a a basic example of what size to make my product pictures so they appear correctly. My pictures on my site seem to be skewed as far as the aspect ratio

 

When I create my product images. What should the pixels be height and width?

 

And do I have to have another set that is larger for them to click on?

You choose the image sizes through the menus in the admin section (configuration images).

Depends on your products. I use roughly square images of 90px for the small images and haven't bothered with the large ones yet. This suits the CDs but distorts the videos. :? I shall probably photo them with white sides to fill the space.

I think there is a contribution for having two sets of images (you'd have to search for it). Otherwise images will be resized and this will slow down the page loading.
