skeedo Posted November 12, 2002 Posted November 12, 2002 When using Paypal the user is required to signup for an osc account and also signup for a Paypal account when they make a payment. To me this seems it would be a huge pain, and I would like to eliminate one and it would have to be the account on my end. Now if I do this am I going to get any stats, order tracking, mailing lists, etc.?
Guest Posted November 15, 2002 Posted November 15, 2002 The user would have to set up an account whichever 3rd party you use (NOCHEX is even worse as the customer not only has to set up a debit card, but he has to wait 2 days to confirm a small deposit from NOCHEX into the associated account - this is their security check). I still think PayPal is the way to go, provided that they come through with local currencies (they are working on accepting payments in yen, pounds and canadian dollars, and a change is imminent apparently). I think the worst thing for a customer is seeing a payment in pounds (for example) in os, then seeing the same payment in dollars in PayPal, and then seeing it converted back to a slightly different pounds amount. If local currencies work, it will be better than NOCHEX and their debit card checks. Regards. John Green
