language not setting properly on my server but localhost ok

This is a last resort enquiry I have tickled various files and can get the shop running as long as all boxes that make a call to date, currency,language are removed. The admin page falls over as soon as it hits english.php.

that is no page at all

cant run server_info.php because it needs to include english.php

cant find where to hard code in a single language that does not rely on php server calls

I have searched thru as many posts here as I can see no help

...except something I suspect may be affecting me something about "server support for php globals"

 

The problem is the same for v1.2 and 2.2

 

Everthing works fine on my localhost win32. (Appche 1.3 php 4.0.?? mysql 3.something) catalog and admin WORKS A TREAT.

 

However on my web service provider (server101.com) I can't run the admin at all and the catalog works only without date currency or lanuage calls. I think they use redhat 7.

 

any ideas ?
