I have just gone to the site to download PHPMyAdmin as advised in the oscDox.

 

There seems to be 2 options:

 

php files

php3 files

 

Which one do I download? Is PHP3 better? Is there a difference?

there is no difference AFAIK or it should be that the .php3 files are compatible with php3 where the .php files are not. Highly unlikely.

 

It's just to make your life easier if you are on a server that only recognizes .php3 files being php or the other way around.

 

Gamble on the .php files....

 

or check by creating both a test.php and test.php3 on your server.

If there is no difference (both get parsed) go for the .php version
