Also here is a link that I'm trying to get pics to be seen and with no success. I’ve uploaded the pics inside the images folder and the path I get when I right click on the image goes to store then images (http://resourcesonline.us/osCommerce3/catalog/images/store/Audio%20Cables/FUL1_BE112234-10.jpg) I’m very clueless as t how t get these pictures to view.

Here is the link to my ecommerce page: http://resourcesonline.us/osCommerce3/catalog/

I have even went as far as creating a folder named store in the images folder to see if the path would fall into place. But for some reason no luck.

I have a huge project that is coming up that will require about 5000 products and I do not want to take that on without knowing how to get thee picture viewable.

PLEASE HELP ANYONE!

I would certainly appreciate it.

Have you check your image size? Looks like it's an issue with your size. What is the actual images size and what do you have set as in Configurations?

That image is sitting in the store directory - not in the /Audio Cables/ directory, which doesn't exist.

If you go here http://resourcesonline.us/osCommerce3/cata...BE112234-10.jpg you see it.

You need to go through and either create the directories your products are referring to, or edit the product listings to point to the right place.

Just now all the product images are in the store directory but the listing are looking for sub directories that I cant see.

here is the pic for your zune fm transmitter

http://resourcesonline.us/osCommerce3/cata...FUL1_F8M030.jpg

same thing - you are actually telling your shop to look here where there is no directory called Zune Accessories.

Can I also just say that leaving spaces in image names and directory names can be a pain as sometimes the space is replaced by a % sign and that can be tricky when the listings are looking for image files with what is actually a different name.

Same for directory names, just safe to replace a space with a _ and keep it right.

cheers gen

i am a complete newb to this.. but adding photos to my products was one thing that i AM able to do..

I actually just went to the admin screen, then catalog, products/categories and then i would click until i got to the product i want.. once i am there, you click EDIT on the product and that is where you upload your image to.

there is an add on or something that you can upload so that it will automatically create a thumbnail or automatically make 3 images per product..

I cant help you with where to find that though, someone did it for me.. maybe someone else will come along who is A LOT more knowledgable than me..

my website is

Your images dont seem to be linked anywhere ie if you view properties for your product birds right click one of the image in firefox and it is looking for the image in http://www.furryfamilysupplies.com/catalog/images/ there is no file name included.

Did you receive a warning when you uploaded the images?

To me it looks as though no images have been uploaded thats why they are not showing.

One of the images that are there there is showing as looking for the image at http://www.furryfamilysupplies.com/catalog/images/iconhousing.jpg

see the file name on the end iconhousing.jpg the rest don't have this.

You can upload the pictures from your hard drive, no need to upload them manually

I have a similar problem - when I add a new product and upload the image, the image files are not getting saved to the directory where OS Commerce expects to find them.

Is there some way, on either end, where I can correct this. Either define the default path where these image files should be saved when I add a new product, or define a different path where the PHP code in the system should look for them when any user is interfacing with the system.

hi,

a solution might be the size of the pics you are trying to upload,

go to www.fookes.com and download Easy Thumbnails.....a very good freeware program to reduce the size of your pics before uoloading them.

No - as stated above the problem is that the system is looking in the wrong directory.

Anyone else??

Did you check both your admin and catalog includes/configure.php files?

Either define the default path where these image files should be saved when I add a new product, or define a different path where the PHP code in the system should look for them when any user is interfacing with the system.

(Wish I knew what I was doing here!) Okay from what I can work out line 11 of \catalog\includes\configure.php is what defines where the catalog looks for the product image files.

10  define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/shop/catalog/');
11  define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');
12  define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'icons/');

So if I amend that path, it will find the directory to which my image files are currently being uploaded.

However, then there are lots of other image files that it won't find - so I guess one of the three image paths in \admin\includes\configure.php must be the path I need to adjust to make sure that my product image files get uploaded into \catalog\images\

(Call this post "thinking out loud" - and hoping that someone who knows what they are doing, will come in to correct me and/or short-cut my experimenting misery!)

So path I needed to adjust was in line 34 of \admin\includes\configure.php:_

34 define('DIR_FS_CATALOG_IMAGES', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'images/');

This was saving my images into /shop/images/ so now I have amended it to:-

34 define('DIR_FS_CATALOG_IMAGES', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'catalog/images/');

and problems look to be resolved! Hope this helps someone else! So do the FS and WS in the code stand for something obvious?
