Unable to connect to database server

Hi:

 

I am trying to install Oscommerce and keep getting: Unable to connect to database server!

 

I added my database name, user name and password.

 

Can anyone help?

2.12, I just downloaded it from the site.

i believe you must go into catelog/includes/application_top.php

 

 

my friend, i say aim for 2.2 personally. but hey, whatever floats yoru boat.

i did edit that page but it still wont let me run the app and it says database access problem

yeah do you have yahoo messenger? maybe what would help is if you tell me which lines of the code to edit... i edited the obvious ones: url, db user name, db password, name to access db etc.

 

did i miss any?

Its odd that i got 2.12 not 2.2 i downloaded it today

it's not odd. you have to go to the one in developement.

 

stable? yes and no. i mean, sure

it works fine, but then you wanna upgrade it, and upgrade it, and when you fiddle too much you cause bumps.

 

but overall, i like it.

 

it's very comforable.
