Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/cnlpe3/public_html/oscommerce/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

OK, so I just loaded a new copy of OSC and logged into the catalog and get this error message at the top of the page. Not being much of a dummy, i log into the forums to find the answer to fix it, and WTF there are several answers, but then I look at the php file and where the heck do i plug in the answer, i see no 444 or 644 or any other numbers..

HELP!!! Where the heck does the answer go? in the configure.php file or another one??

It's something you need to do with an FTP program (if you used one), or your "control panel" supplied by your host.

Any help here:

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

Thanks, I think i figured it out... I was looking IN the code for the permissions, once i actually logged into the file manager in my cpanel, i saw the change permissions tab on the right side. Totally fixed my problem.

Now if only I can remember it for any future need.
