delaen Posted November 9, 2002 Posted November 9, 2002 http://boardmod.yabbforum.com/downloads.php#2.5.1 Basically it's just a program that searches and replaces in files/directories. If someone wanted to write a contribution and wants to give step by step details on how to install it without making someone do it manually, they just use the "mod writer" part of this program. It makes it pretty easy to install AND uninstall contributions. If someone here knows more about this than I do, please let me know. Or if this just couldn't work, let me know that too :)
delaen Posted November 9, 2002 Author Posted November 9, 2002 Also this would make it much easier to update a contribution that you already have installed. Instead of having to compare (by whatever means, by hand or with a program) and replace the updates of each individual contribution, you just uninstall the old version and install the new version instead. Is there a similar way to do this that I'm not aware of?
delaen Posted November 9, 2002 Author Posted November 9, 2002 And by updating a contribution I mean going from Paypal IPN .93 to version .95 for instance. I'm sure that was obvious, but I think I may have worded it awkwardly.
vadertech Posted November 10, 2002 Posted November 10, 2002 Can this only be used if you have Yabb installed? I understand to point it to yabb.pl but I dont have that file.
delaen Posted November 10, 2002 Author Posted November 10, 2002 Well, with this exact version you need Yabb.pl, but it can somewhat easily be modified to be used with anything. (I think if you just create a blank file called "yabb.pl" in your OSC folder, this could be used with it without modification) I'm was just curious if something like this would be used a lot with OSC. If there is any demand for it, I would start working on modifying it.
