Guest Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 so... having finally sorted the store I need to move host, so have moved files over, and now have access problems in the admin section but on the new host we've removed access restictions and can access /admin/ freely but can't access any pages within it The control panel is open to the world (on the new host, not in use yet) but won't accept changes Anyone know what's going on?

Guest Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 You have to tell oscommerce how to connect to your database. osommcer is still trying to connect to your old database from your other host, which is not going to happen. Open up your config file and make the changes to it so that oscommerce will connect to your new databases at your new host.

Its probably because you never updated your config file, and since you said you're not familiar with that, I'm assuming I'm correct. As far as your admin password protection goes, have you ever tried searching the forums before you ask a question? About 3 people a day for the past 5 years has asked the same exact question. You should be able to find your answer about 1,000 times over.

You clearly are more interested in attacking me for not knowing what you know than sharing that knowledge. The underlying principles of the oscom project are clearly lost on you. Yes, I searched for my problem. Once again, the problem is that on my old server, admin is fine, and on my new server, admin is open access. I cannot find a thread on this topic, only threads referring to admin problems in clean installs. I have also scrolled through the last few weeks looking at the titles, and have found no reference to my problem. So much for three times a day. Is there anybody willing to meet me where I am and try to help?
