Try: http://ourdomain.com/catelog/install/index.php or renaming index.php to index.php4! Grtz, Arjan Gelderblom I think computer viruses should count as life. bettybakebake Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 I have the exact same problem. Can't get the product to actually open to a functional page. All the links and pics and boxes and stuff is there but no first page to actually set up. I have the page there now. I then changed a few config files to CHMOD and its all ok now. Installation (for now is going well) Thank you :)

I went and took a video tutorial on another web site about installing osCommerce and I am blank. I am supposed to FTP this? (I use FTPlite) Just not download to my computer and set up a page from there? Yeah I watched the changing of config files et al, and I have this sinking feeling..... Can someone just tell me if I do or I don't just download and save to my computer? I can go from there, eventually figuring it out. I found no exe files in the downloaded folder, I wondered about that. I thought this was like openoffice which is very user friendly and was easy to download and install. thanks, betty

You probably downloaded a .zip file: * Unpack that * Go into that directory; you'll see files like index.php and directory catalog and more * Start up your FTP program * Login to your website using FTP * FTP the files in that directory to your webhost * Voila your files are in place I thought this was like openoffice which is very user friendly and was easy to download and install. This isn't a standalone progam which means that it is able to run on itself. It will need an webserver with PHP-support and Apache for that!
