Help: Receiving Automated Email daily

Hi, we're new to Oscommerce and have received the same email daily for a few weeks about updating our store?

this is an example

 

Domain Name: internationalmusic.com.au

 

Date/Time: June 30th, 2007 @ 1:52 AM

 

The following installations are not up-to-date:

 

OS Commerce:

+ /onlinestore - 2.2 MS2 (051113) (2.2 MS2 (060817))

 

it sends it almost at the same time each day. could someone please tell us what we can do to stop this?

Wow, this must be a new feature. What version are you running.

I started getting a similar one from fantastico every day - it said my installation was not up to date, but clearly I'm running 060817 and is up to date - they are telling me to upgrade to Buy Safe - a module which I don't want or need, also, it says it will break my store if I've modifed OSC so I can't install it anyway.

 

If you are running 051113, then you should upgrade to 060817 as it has some important security fixes.

 

I opened a ticket with my host to get these daily emails stopped. They weren't keen and said I should just ignore and delete them! I claimed this was marketing which I don't want, then I said it was spam because the email address was spoofed as it said it came from my email address. One email is acceptable, one everyday is out of order.

 

They stopped these mails - you should contact your host and demand they stop them.
