Installing on Mac OS 10.2.1. Below is as far as I got (though it says config was successful). If I click on the administration button, get the following:

The requested URL /~randy/catalog/admin/index.php was not found on this server.

Checked and there is no admin dir in catalog. Sup wit dat?

New Install

Step 2: osCommerce Configuration

I'll answer my own question.

The admin dir needs to be put _inside_ the catalog dir. This is not made clear in the install files for catalog, admin.

Hi Randall:

I ran into exactly the same problem and didn't get a reply, either. We should probably let the folks over as oscdox.com know about this so that they can fix their documentation.

After you finished installation and changed the permissions, as recommended in the docs, did you get a warning about permissions for the catalog/includes/configure.php file? I kept seeing this warning in the header of the default catalog page until I changed the permissions from 644 to 444. I'm still trying to figure out if this is going to cause a problem for me in administering the site. I've got it set up on my computer as the local server until I get the site done and tested.

Thanks--Ricka

I did. Changed the permissions and it's working ok (though I'm an absolute beginner with this app).
