Guest Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 I have a fantastico installation of osCommerce, version 2.2 MS2 (051113). Rather than manually updating it, I simply set up another osCommerce installation via Fantastico with 060817 and have put in the customizations and mods, but then a matter a days later, Fantastico notifies me that I should update the osCommerce installation to include BuySAFE, but I have a little problem. I am not the owner of the online store, my client is, and I really don't know what to tell him about this BuySAFE module. His response will be "I am already using GeoTrust, now I have to add ANOTHER third party agent and I have to set up ANOTHER account with some company that says it will guarantee to my buyers that their transactions through my website are safe?" In other words, this update is not going to be transparent to my client, since he has to go and set up a BuySAFE account. At the moment I'm thinking, NOW what? Is this really necessary? And since I already have the 060817 update installed, is there a "patch" or something with just the BuySAFE module that can be installed, if my client decides he wants it installed? And suppose he doesn't want it for some reason? Quote

If using PayPal it is supposedly only integrated with the osCommerce PayPal core module and is not completly compatible when using other PayPal payment module contributions including the "Official" PayPal IPN contribution. Unless you are a programmer I do not recommend using this buySAFE contribution. Go to Search on this forum for "buySAFE" and you will clearly see that this buySAFE contribution is in its infancy with osCommerce. I have installed buySAFE on my store, but it is disabled until someone can integrate it into either the official PayPal IPN or PayPal Shopping Cart IPN contributions.
