Guest Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 I want to make my shopping cart my home page. I have deleted my my index.html page, but i am not sure how to replace it with the index.php Depends on how your store is set up. You may want to look at the store in root contrib.
Grodt Posted July 3, 2007 Author Posted July 3, 2007 Well my store is in the public_html folder. like this: /public_html/store
Guest Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Well my store is in the public_html folder. like this: /public_html/store It does have a web address? eg www.mystore.com or www.mystore.com/store The first is in the root the second is not. If it is in the root already, it would already work.

If it is in the root already, it would already work. What if the index.php is not in the root? OSCommerce comes somewhat preinstalled with my host provider, so all I did is activate it. The index.php file is in the catalog folder. Will everything still work properly if I just move it into the root? Or do I have to set my home page to redirect to the catalog home page? Thanks.
germ Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 It probably won't work right if you move the "index.php" file from the "catalog" folder to the root. Or do I have to set my home page to redirect to the catalog home page? Seems like I've read somewhere that Google (and maybe other search engines) don't like "re-directs". Why not just put an "index.html" file in the root, with a "Click here to enter my Store" link? If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.
