aardvarkmultimedia Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 hello everyone... Just a quick background on the project....I've recently been contracted by an online jewelry store to finish up and migrate a heavily modified osCommerce project that had been completed to about 80% by a different developer. He did a really nice job on everything aside from walking away from the project just weeks away from completion. Now my job is to take up where he left off and complete the project. I have done numerous osCommerce migrations in the past and have never really had any problems until I ran into this project, I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that it's been so heavily modified. I've spent the last 3 or 4 days reading through these forums and trying every solution I can find to try and remedy this situation and I'm hoping someone here can lend a hand...we'd be more than happy to donate some funds via paypal or provide graphic design services as trade if someone can help us out with this. I have also substituted my actual domain name with "domain.com" FYI. here's the scoop: ---------------------------------------------------- Host 1 - where the current site lives and functions Host 2 - where I am trying to move it Step 1: backup files using FTP and export database .sql file from Host 1 to my hard drive using phpMyAdmin (UTF-8). Step 2: Use fantastico to install fresh version of OsCommerce to the /catalog/ directory of my site at Host 2 (http://www.domain.com/catalog/) Step 3: Use FTP to upload/overwrite all files backed up from Host 1 to the new location on Host 2 Step 4: Use phpMyAdmin to drop all tables from Host 2's fresh OsCommmerce install, and then import the database backup SQL file from Host 1 into Host 2's newly created database. ...[note: host 2 uses Cpanel and adds a prefix to the database name - Host 1's database was named "os", but on Host 2 it is automatically named "prefix_os". Would this have anything to do with it?] Step 5: Using dreamweaver, I open the configure.php file(s) in the /includes/ and /admin/includes/ directories. Step 6: Edit all of the info in the newly uploaded configure.php files. I've also been using this thread as a guildline: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showforum=12 I have double, and triple checked all db names/user/passwords as well! Step 7: Visit the URL of the new location (http://www.domain.com/catalog/) ERROR: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Apache/1.3.37 Server at www.domain.com Port 80 ------------------------------------------------------ Aside from this method, I have also tried to manually upload all backup files from Host 1 to Host 2 and have also manually created the database and then done an import via phpMyAdmin to populate the database without any luck. I've tried doing this on subdomains, roots, subfolder, everything... any help would be greatly appreciated!!! I would be happy to email or send my configure.php files over if that helps! much respect and thanks to everyone here for developing and contributing to such a great tool! -Matt
