rommany
Hello This is just a bit of info for people that use a HSBC merchant account, from 1st july Maestro cards will only be accept if the customer has a SecureCode, and in the near future HSBC and most other banks will introduce the 'Verified by Visa' and 'MasterCard SecureCode' When i was told by my bank last week that this was happening i searched the oscommerce contribution area and found no HSBC module for this, so i needed to search the web for one, i did find one company (only one that i know of in the UK that does this) that has setup their own software that has HSBC Secure e-Payments API Module with 3D Secure and it work like a dream, i beleive that they have permission by HSBC, its not cheap at £395.00 + VAT but just in my option it will be the only way to accept orders in the near future and customers will start demanding it anyway. Im not here to spam oscommerce with this product and i have no money motive to plug this, i just thinks its something that we all should be aware of and if you have a HSBC merchant account you really need to talk to the bank to find out more details, because again from 1st july you will NOT be able to take any Maestro card payment and this could affect your business. If you do require more info about the one i purchased please PM me for more details, as i think this post will be removed if i link the other site. Thanks PS This is just a small read up from them... As of the 1st July 2007, any ecommerce stores accepting Maestro cards on their stores will not be able to accept these cards unless 3D secure is in place. HSBC API payment module seamlessly integrates into osCommerce and allows customers to pay for their order without ever leaving your site. One of the most important components of any ecommerce store is the payment module. The HSBC API module was written from the ground up specifically for osCommerce. The payment module is controlled completely from within osCommerce, meaning you no longer have to log into a third party site to process payments. Within the customers order screen, store owners can settle, void and partially credit orders. If an order has failed an AVS check, a message clearly tells you what the problem is. You then have the option to either Accept or Reject the order, again this is all done from within osCommerce.
