offordscott
Can I somehow store names and addresses of my customers who call-in to place orders with my call center? Does osCommerce allow this in some fashion? I would need to be able to search the previous records so I can have their shipping/billing address and name on file for easy repeat orders in the future. Thank you. Any info at all would help. Scott
Silverado05
Try this, it allows you to manually enter orders through your admin section when customers call in to place orders. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...ch,Manual+Order Search the forum and contributions before posting. If that doesn't work, keep looking, then post. The forum is for seeking help and advice NOT for someone to do your work for you. offordscott
Silverado05, This looks good, but I'm still wondering if there is a way to find previous customers in the database if an order was entered manually with this mod. Everyone, What is most important to me is if a customer calls in again with repeat orders we should already have their info on file... easy to find with a simple search of the database. Can anyone offer more help? Thanks for all your help. Silverado05
That will do just that. When they call in and place an order all their information is stored in the Data Base for future purchases and to reference orders if you have to. It works just like if the customer with through your site and placed and order except you are placing the order for them. Search the forum and contributions before posting. offordscott
I found this contribution that looks like it might also help: Search Orders by Customer Info: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...search+customer
Silverado05
Yea you can add that to the one above. That is a new contribution and I wasn't aware of that. All it does that is allows you to look up a customer by name instead of ID. Just combine it with the one above and you will be good to go. Search the forum and contributions before posting. madcrazygirl
I am confused by this contribution........ I can already search for customers anyway in the standard installation?
offordscott
Madcrazygirl, This contribution means that you can search with more fields than just the ID. I believe the regular search is not as robust. No?
madcrazygirl
I frequently go to customers on admin and type in part of a customers name or email and up pop the records? What do you mean ID?
offordscott
I'm thinking maybe it was an older version of osCommerce. I'm not too sure. Can anyone clear this up? Is the "Search Orders by Customer Info" still useful, or is it not necessary any more?
Silverado05
If she can search for customers by name and email address and not customer ID out of the box then please tell me how. Cause with my version I can't do that with. Search the forum and contributions before posting. If that doesn't work, keep looking, then post. madcrazygirl
Admin - Customers and then use the search box in the top right hand corner? This pulls up matching customers and then you can view their orders. Am I misunderstanding something?
