JTP Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 Hi, I downloaded a copy of your cart but as I do not have shell access to the web server my site is hosted on I can not run the .sql file to create the tables for me, does that mean I have to create all of the mysql tables by hand. I'm sure I'm not the first person to come across this problem but I cant find anything in the forums. Please help as I dont want to spend tonight creating tables by hand. Thanks James.
Jan0815 Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 Download a snpshot version of osCommerce. The new versions have a complete web based installer included so there is no need for shell access. Or use PHPMyAdmin, this has also shown to be a good solution. HTH You can't have everything. JTP Posted November 9, 2002 Author Posted November 9, 2002 Hi, I took your advice and downloaded the snapshot which includes the web based installer for mysql and it worked a treat, created the tables and they all look fine but I am now getting errors in database.php. Is this because the versions of the pages and tables do not match i.e. v2.1 pages and v2.2 database? feel free to take a look http://renshaw.me.uk/catalog/default.php I also notice that on my webserver virtual directory support is turned off, is that a problem as their is nothing I can do to change it as I do not host my own server. James.
dahammer2 Posted November 9, 2002 Posted November 9, 2002 Yeah looks like your running 2.1 code agasint 2.2 database files. My best suggestion is just to start again. Delete 2.1, install 2.2 snapshot and the database. But 2.1 will not run off 2.2 database.. as you can see :)
