Help!

Hello!

I really need someone who is very patient to help me! I have an os commerce website, which has been happily running ever since my dad set it up for me a few years back. Now I have a problem, and sadly, my father has died...taking with him my IT help!

I am not sure which version of os I am running, but I should imagine it is fairly old. My dad upgraded his site, but didn't get round to updating mine.

My problem...when adding a new item. I fill in everything as usual, and hit preview. The small image the site usually uploads from my HDD and puts onto the site has failed to upload, and I get the annoying red x in a white square icon, and if I press ok, and go back to the list of items available, in place of the items image, I get IMAGE DOES NOT EXIST, with ARRAY underneath. This is a very recent development, its been happening for the last 2 days. I have changed NOTHING, neither have I altered any settings online, or hardware. One day everything was fine, the next...no joy.

Any suggestions?! I really would like the ability of adding new items back!

Thank you!!

:D

Are you sure the image you are placing in is not too big and that it's a basic jpg?

Hi! Thank you for replying! I have been adding items to my site for a couple of years now and have not changed anything. The pics are all 80x and are jpgs. Any ideas :(

You should upgrade to the latest osc version for your own securoty.

Use ftp tool and add image to the images folder.

this will give You a temporary relief as images will start displaying.

Now ask Your hosting company if they upgraded something that has changed the environment setting.

The other area that needs to be looked in is the web space. Is sufficient free web space available or not.

Hi Satish!

I did the uploading via ftp yesterday and tried adding THAT path to the image box, but it won't let me! I checked the webs space and I am only using 16%. Need to ask hosting company (supanames) if they have altered something. My os commerce is rather old - is updating it terribly complicated?

Thank you!

Create a test store by creating a seperate data base and moving the code.

Then change the config to connect to the new db and take care of new paths.

Once done try to update to the version.

the complexity depends on Your PHP skills but its not very simple for sure.

Also with upgrade You might have to do some data base modification

This I missed to state on MY above comment.
