Guest
Hi there, I would like to change the way my store uses images. Currently it is setup to show my product image /catalog/images/image.jpg - and so when displaying my product I can click on the image to get details about the product and by clicking the image from the detail page - I can get a larger view of my product. The problem is, the original display of the image is very grainy - it stores the image as 100 x 80. I would like to present another image - one that is displayed at the correct dimensions and then still keep the ability to click to enlarge and get the larger image. I can't figure out how to do this though. Any ideas? I didn't want to post my site URL here - (didn't want anyone to think I was marketing) but I can if I need to. Thanks - Kim

Guest
you want the images you deploy for products to have a significant size (width, height to be greater than the max thumbnail sizes set). Then use a thumnailer module to create on the fly smaller images. So when someone clicks the popup link they can see the full-size image with full quality. This can speed up page load times and reduce b/w consumption.
