If you have access to the host's FTP, then you could connect to the server and see if the oscommerce files are still there. We see our customers as invited guests to a party, and we are the hosts. spax
Log in to your space with an FTP client, you will see if the files are still there. Presumably you haven't got a complete backup but if you contact your host, they should be able to help you out. All good hosts will have regular backups saved. It may well be they have simply renamed the index file so it will not show, what is the url of your site? If you are the registered name for the hosting company you can regain control by asking them to change the password therefore locking out anyone else. To be much use really we need more info Nic Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post [/url] My Contributions

I brought the domain name through 123reg.co.uk. I have logged into there website but cant seem to see it there (now wondering if that to has been deleted!). Im sure it is still there as when i search for availabltily under my web addres it says that it is taken, so fingers crossed its still there. Any help would be great, i know im not being to helpful Eve
bows2babydolls
Hi there, it sounds like your domain name may have expired. It still shows as taken for 30 days after expiration. I learned the hard way because my domain name just expired! working on sorting it all out just now. Or your hosting could have expired. If you go to the url and nothing shows then most probably one of these is true. Was the domain name registered in your name, and were you the administrative contact? I don't see why it wouldn't still be in your 123reg account, because the family member could only have transferred it to another registrar or account if he could confirm via the email address registered as the administrative contact. You can do a whois.org search on the domain name to see who the administrative contact is. I hope you get it back, i lost a good domain name because of an idiot who registered it for me and wouldnt push it to my account. This was back in 2004 and the idiots renewed it for another two years, looks like i'll never get it back, and he doesn't even use it!
