I have installed the contribution Hide products from customer groups for SPPC

I cant seem to find the forum for this contribution so i am posting this new topic.

Please help!

I want to create to groups of users

1. Registered

2. Guests

Every user that signs into the shopping cart would be part of the Registered users group and everyone who isnt signed in would be part of the Guest group. But currently the contribution is setup so that only users who have signed up with the site can become part of a group so my idea is redundent. Any ideas on how to make it so that people who are not signed in become part of the guest group automatically?

thanks!

Actually, the SPPC thread is the place for asking questions about it.

I don't think you fully understand the setup of the Hide products contribution. In SPPC the one premise is that retail customers are always customer group 0. That is done because your group 2, the guests who just visit are considered to be in group 0. If you want to show a different price to group "Registered" you should add another customer group, say number 1 and move all registered users to that group.

That can be automated when someone creates a new account for example. In the default configuration no specific customer group is given when setting up the sql for adding the customer info. It relies on the default for that group (0) in the database. But as said you can simply add some code to "promote" them to customer group 1 on opening an account (or do it manually of course in the admin).

I don't really get what you mean. Actually I think I am experiencing the same problem as nickdunse. I also wish to hide some products from those users who are not login in which are known as the Guest. Currently, Guest users are able to view all products.

Please help me out over here. Thanks.
