Apache/1.3.33 Server at familyhood.com Port 80

It only happens to new users. it works perfectly with an exist user.

I am transfering to a new hosting company, so i have to move the shopping cart too. I first installed it in 2003, i think the version was 2.0, and now the one in the new hostting company is 2.2, i imported the database from the old cart.

I have the deadline of july 1st, after that the old hosting company will not provide the service any more, so i have to get this new cart working soon.

Please help!!

Can you explain things clearer. Are you moving the old site or upgrading also? If upgrading did you also update the data base or just move it over?

If you are updating to a more current version of osC then I doubt the DB's are the same and that might be causing your error.

You don't need to update if you don't have to. Just backup your old site and FTP your files to the new server and then you can use the old database. Upgrading while on a July 1st deadline is probably not your best option. This way you can get your store up and running "then" work on updating to a newer version if you decide to later on.

I have updated data bases before and it is NOT a fun job.

I guess i am updating and tried to use the old database to go with the new versioin of oscommerce.

so if i just upload all the files of the old cart to the new server, do i need to export the old datebase file and import it to the new server? or what is the best way to do this?

Thank you so much for your reply. I guess i won't try to use the new version then. so please help me to just transfer the old one over. Thanks in advance!!

Steps

1) upload all the files to your new server

2) create a new db via phpmyadmin

3) create a new user via phpmyadmin

4) add your new user to your db via phpmyadmin (ALL privliges)

5) save your old db and upload it to your new db on your new server

6) make the appropriate changes to your configure.php files to reflect your new database.

7) pray

8) open your site in your browser and see if it works.

There will probably be a few other things to sort out also, but this is a good start.

Make sure you do a FULL site backup from your old host before July 1st.

ok, so i moved the old cart over, and imported the old database, it seems it is working somehow, but with some bugs.

on the default.php page, i got this error:

Warning: main(includes/boxes/manufacturers.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/f/a/m/familyhood/html/catalog/catalog/includes/column_left.php on line 22

Warning: main(includes/boxes/manufacturers.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/f/a/m/familyhood/html/catalog/catalog/includes/column_left.php on line 22

Warning: main(): Failed opening 'includes/boxes/manufacturers.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/content/f/a/m/familyhood/html/catalog/catalog/includes/column_left.php on line 22
