Hi

I am getting an email tittled

"Fantastico De Luxe Outdated Installations" and inside it says

 

"Domain Name: evescustomcreations.com

 

Date/Time: June 26th, 2007 @ 10:20 PM

 

The following installations are not up-to-date:

 

OS Commerce:

+ / - 2.2 MS2 (051113) (2.2 MS2 (060817)) "

 

Does anyone know what this is and how I correct it? I have started getting this e-mail everyday now.

I guess I would ask who are you getting the emails from, did you install osCommerce from your hosts control panel or did you download and install it yourself, are they offering to update your osCommerce for a fee?

 

My general answers would be:

 

If the emails are from your host and you did install osCommerce from the hosts control panel and you have not installed the updated securty patched then it's time to update it, it's not that hard.

 

If the emails are comming from another source and offering to update it for a fee run like a wild rabbit, there just trying to get your money and access to your website.

Bit of a nuisance that daily email isn't it. I just deleted fantversion.php in catalog dir the fantastico had nothing to check. i also changed project version in application_top.php to define('PROJECT_VERSION', 'osCommerce 2.2-MS2');

Worked for me.
