Need Help With Shopping Cart And General Design

Before I start, I need to say that I am not a website designer and am learning as I go along so the more help I can get the better.

 

I have two requests. Firstly, I am trying to change the homepage of my partners website. My problem is that I cannot find where all the elements of the site are. I am using SmartFTP to access the site and have been able to do some small alterations. She who must be obeyed, now informs me that she would like to remove the whole right-hand column but I can't find where it is located. I am also trying to find the logo at the top of the page, to no avail. My question is, is there a search facility whereby I can locate the various elements of the site. If I right click on the logo at the top of the page and go to properties, I get topbar3.gif but I cannot find where this is in order to change it.

 

The i***t who designed the site in the first place called files by strange names which does not make it easy to locate anything.

 

My second query is this. When someone is buying something on the site and puts a product into the shopping cart, it is not possible to get back to the page with all the products on it in order to continue shopping. Is this normal as it is very frustrating and is I believe affecting sales?
