Complete Newbie

Hi all, complete newbie here.

 

I have downloaded and have built my database of products for my site.

 

However having trouble getting this thing installed and to work.

 

Can anyone point me in the right direction of any help files out there?

which version

 

2.1 or 2.2 and how did you install it?

 

btw,

 

if it's 2.1. i personally suggest 2.2

 

and also, if you use 2.2 go to http://www.mysite.com/catalog/install/

 

to install it.

Where can I get 2.2 and is there any step by step guides?

ok, this is gonna take awhile.

 

 

you download the 2.2 same place you download 2.1 you jus have to make sure and get the one in 'development' stage.

 

 

as for the link, i ddin't mean the REAL link. i meant http://YOURSITE.com/catalog/install/

 

that's the folder it goes into when you upload it.

right is on my site, however the adminstration tools just brings up a blank page?

Ok sorted above, needed to move admin folder, but when i click on admin tools now I get:

 

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '.', expecting ')' in /web/sites/141/goldberg-mods/www.goldberg-mods.co.uk/catalog/admin/includes/functions/database.php on line 13

Just re-installed

 

My database is not very big at the moment. I set it up through the members area via my hosts site which is the only way it is possible. No errors when compiled.

 

I keep messingand things start to work, but this is not really for beginners as I am finding. But I have a week or 2 to get it up and hopefully you guys will help :wink:
